* Understand the role, organization and capabilities of Bangladesh
Navy and the maritime infrastructures of Bnagladesh.
* Understand the structures and role of regional navies and
maritime forces.
* Understand the basic concepts of maritime strategy.
* Understand the basic principles of conduct of each area of
maritime operations.
* Understand the philosophy and method of training throughout
Bangladesh Navy from new entry training to the work up of ships.
* Understand the priciples of practical management in
ships.
* Understand the basic principles of international law with
particular emphasis on the law of sea.
* Understand the process by which naval manpwer and material
are provided and how the naval programme is managed.

Latest inclusion in Bangladesh Navy Daewoo cl anti ship frigate |
The BNS Daewoo is the first South Korean built frigate to enter service with the Bangladesh
Navy. The ship of 2,300 tonnes is a modified version of the ones in service with the South Korean Navy. It is fitted with
a Thales command and control sensor suite comprising the TACTICOS combat management system, BA-08 surveillance radar, a Variant
surveillance radar, a Mirador electro-optical tracking and fire control system and a Lirod Mil-2 fire control radar. Thales
sensor is supplying the Electronic Warfare suite comprising Cutlass 242 Electronic Support Measures and Scorpion jammer. Weapons
constitute one Otobreda 76/62 super rapid gun, 2 Otobreda 40/L70 compact mountings, 4 Otobreda MK-2 anti-ship missiles and
2 B515 triple torpedo tubes.
